ICI works collaboratively with member schools to gain access to the research that sustains school communities in designing frames that support learning, development, leadership and culture. Our organization partners and works with many in the research-based educational community to discover, uncover and explore the possibilities of supporting all individuals in our community to their fullest potential. ICI assists schools in deepening the work they wish to investigate to prepare students for mastery of the new basics of the 21st century — thinking and problem solving — and to meet the high demands of a global economy. Our schools are assisted in developing a rich intellectual “thinking curriculum” that builds knowledge and skills around big ideas, makes cross-content connections and life applications, integrates the arts, and uses technology as a tool for both teaching and learning. ICI works with principals to ensure that students are engaging in high-order thinking tasks and using a variety of technologies with ease and confidence. Hand in hand, our work with schools is aimed at ensuring that all students can work and problem solve collaboratively in an environment of mutual respect, while building and challenging one another’s thinking.
